This gorgeous estate wedding at Green Gables in San Diego, California turned out so wonderfully! It was the perfect amount of elegance with just a dash of rustic, and you can’t go wrong with that wedding theme recipe. Fun fact about the bride and groom: they have actually been long distance on opposite sides of the country up until their wedding day! They are the literal definition of “if it’s meant to be, it’ll be.” 

Green Gables Estate was the perfect Southern California wedding venue for this sweet couple and their dreamy as ever wedding day. The venue has been around for quite some time, and for good reason. It is a hidden oasis in the heart of San Diego with lots of beautiful history. The location where the bride got ready actually used to be an old schoolhouse! How cool is that? 

After getting ready, the bride and groom shared a first look in one of the venue’s lush outdoor areas. They both ended up shedding some tears, which makes for some really beautiful first look photos (and one teary-eyed photographer!) Rachel looked incredible in a classic one-shoulder mermaid-style wedding dress. Grant looked great as well in a classic black groom suit. 

The outdoor wedding ceremony space was breathtaking. I’m not kidding when I say it looked straight out of a fairytale. Tall trees with leaves and string lights that hung down over the space surrounded everyone, and the whimsical wedding florals that decorated the ceremony arch were just the icing on the cake. 

After a touching ceremony, we snuck in some golden hour bride and groom portraits (a must) before the reception. The tented reception was so incredibly romantic, and as the night went on it turned into incredible fun. Thank you, Rachel and Grant for letting me capture your wonderful wedding day!
