Hannah and Hart || Sacramento, CA Wedding Fiesta
I've always thought that being a guest at a wedding is such an honor. The bride and groom extend an invitation to be a part of the happiest day of their lives. They want you to witness and be their accountability to their precious new marriage. They want to sit, eat, dance, drink, and celebrate with you. They want you there. Being the photographer at a wedding is no different. To me, it is an honor and a privilege to be the one they chosen to document their day. Next to the bridesmaids and groomsmen, the photographer is there the whole way through the day. From the first meeting with Hannah and Hart to their engagement session in San Diego and finally their wedding, every single moment I got to spend with them and get to know them was incredible. These two are full of love, full of life, and every occasion with them is nothing short of a celebration. After their engagement session, I left over-the-moon excited thinking to myself, "this is what it's all about."
Friends, let me tell you-- this Sacramento wedding fiesta did not disappoint. Tucked away on a winding road in Newcastle, CA is the gorgeous barn the wedding took place. The minute you walk in, the smell of cedar greets your nose and on this day music and laughter met your ears. The girls were getting ready in the loft upstairs and before I even reached them I could feel the excitement.
Despite the rain and clouds looming all weekend, the venue was set, the tables were lined with Mexican blankets and cacti. The favors of Tapatio hot sauce had their Sombreros on (yep, Tapatio's in sombreros!) The barn was lined with globe lights and papel picado. I was ready, rain or shine. #Fiestahurtado was underway!
This rainy little weekend in Sacramento had the perfect pocket of no precipitation. In fact, the exact, to-the-minute amount of time to photograph outside. What a neat gift from God and answer to many prayers. Not only did that give the opportunity to capture stunning images in the always favorable natural light, but it let Hannah and Hart sneak away and steal some private moments to be emotional, to kiss, and just be still with each other away from the venue and the rest of the excitement of that day. Those moments, we don’t always realize it, but they are so precious. Especially on your wedding day. Everything goes fast, everything is a blur, and by the time you realize what just happened – you’re tucked away in your hotel room with your honey that night and reliving each moment to the best of your memory.
I feel like I could go on and on about this day and this couple, and yet I don’t quite have the words to describe exactly how honored I am to have been a part of this beautiful day. What an emotional day. From the beautiful first look, the tearful vows, the biggest smiles and hugs immediately following the ceremony and the rave of a dance party that went on into the night. All the while, Hannah and Hart treated me as their valued guest. I left this wedding feeling so grateful for these two and the love they have for each other. These two are such a great reminder to me of why I do what I do and why I love doing it.
Hannah and Hart, I don’t think I was the only one who noticed how incredibly in love you two are. You were both beaming and that was the most beautiful thing you were wearing that day (although that gown… H E A R T E Y E S). I am blessed by you two and I have some incredible friends out of this! I wish you all the best and can’t wait to get some more drinks at Polite Provisions when you come visit to San Diego!
